This cruise gives you two sides of Amsterdam by night in one trip. Starting near the Anne Frank House, you first glide through the historic canal belt, past illuminated bridges, merchants’ houses and quiet waterways, before heading on to the artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival.
Before you board, warm up in our heated café next to the boarding point with a glass of glühwein, included in your ticket. Extra drinks and snacks can be bought in the café before departure.
On board, your skipper shares stories about the city, while an audio guide in English and Dutch tells you about the festival and the artists behind the installations.
Because this route starts in the western canal belt, it shows more of the illuminated city and passes a selection of the festival artworks. It is a relaxed 90-minute way to combine Amsterdam’s winter atmosphere with the best of the light art.

Please arrive 15 minutes before departure and wait in Smidtje Canal Café de Dialoog, next to the boarding point
Collect your glühwein in the café before boarding; no drinks are sold onboard
The boat is heated, but dress warmly if you plan to spend time on the open rear deck
Seats are not reserved; choose any available seat when you board

On weekends, public holidays and especially during the Christmas holidays, the cruise may take longer than 90 minutes
The boarding point is outdoors, so bring an umbrella in case of rain
Boarding involves a few steps, which may be difficult for guests with limited mobility
Dogs are not allowed onboard, except assistance dogs
Smidtje Canal Café de Dialoog, Prinsengracht 261A, 1016 GV Amsterdam, next to the Anne Frank House. The boat departs from the jetty at Prinsengracht 263.
