Beskrivning

Learn where the King lives and why orange rules the nation, uncover political history, royal secrets and The Hague's impressive landmarks on an engaging private city walk.
Regal, proud, and dynamically evolving — The Hague is a city like no other in the Netherlands. For centuries, it has served as the ultimate seat of power, diplomacy, and royal tradition.

On this private guided tour through the city’s historic core, immerse yourself in the fascinating political atmosphere of both historic and modern Netherlands. Discover The Hague’s unique urban duality: how an exclusive medieval court and the modest settlement in its shadow evolved into one of Europe's most remarkable administrative capitals.

Stand by the picturesque Hofvijver pond and admire the Binnenhof — Europe’s oldest working government and parliamentary complex. Along the way, follow in the footsteps of key historical figures: from the Counts of Holland and William of Orange with his powerful descendants, to the tragic statesmen of the Golden Age and the revolutionary philosopher Baruch Spinoza.

Wander through the former Jewish district and the lively Grote Markt, admire the Gothic St. James’ Church, and step inside De Passage, a stunning 19th-century glass-roofed shopping arcade. As you stroll past historic squares and traces of vanished canals, discover how a 19th-century commercial boom and modern urban planning reshaped the cityscape. Finally, at the gates of Noordeinde Palace, we'll bring the monarchy to life through fascinating stories of controversial rulers.

Expect lighthearted, engaging storytelling, rich context, and practical tips to help you navigate the rest of your Dutch adventure.

During the tour, you’ll discover:
- Why the famous Mauritshuis Museum was once nicknamed the "Sugar Palace"
- Where the King actually resides—in Amsterdam or The Hague?
- How to spot hidden canals beneath the city
- Why orange became the national color of the Netherland
