For 9-10 hours, the island is yours. You leave in the morning from Los Cristianos, cross in 50 minutes, and the rest of the day is up to you: how long you stay at each place, how fast you walk, when you stop to look in silence.
In El Cedro, you enter a forest that survived the last Ice Age. You don't need to know anything about botany — your tour guide will point out what most visitors pass by without seeing. You walk, at a leisurely pace, to the Ermita de Lourdes, hidden in the mist.
Later, you stop in front of Roque Agando, one of the monoliths that have been gazing out to sea for millions of years.
And the day ends with your feet on a glass floor, suspended more than 100 meters above the Agulo Valley — the kind of image you'll stare at for a while before taking a photo.
You return to Tenerife at night, not with a generic souvenir of an excursion, but with the feeling of having seen something that most visitors to the island don't even know exists.
