Discover some of Bern’s most beautiful places, hidden alleys, and local brews on this immersive walking tour through the UNESCO-listed Old Town.

We begin at Bern Station and stroll past the Käfigturm, a former prison tower, into the heart of Swiss democracy at Bundesplatz with views of the majestic Bundeshaus. Of course, we cannot miss the Zytglogge, Bern’s iconic medieval clock tower.

From there, we wind through narrow backstreets and sandstone arcades toward the towering Berner Münster, Switzerland’s tallest cathedral. Descending through centuries-old lanes, we arrive at the scenic Bärenpark—home to Bern’s living bear symbol—before ending in the Mattequartier, a historic riverside district once home to tanners and blacksmiths.

Throughout the walk, we descend into some of Bern’s legendary basement bars, where you’ll sample a variety of local craft beers—from smooth lagers to bold IPAs—all served with a side of local stories, cozy stone vaults, and authentic Bernese flair.
