Unlike the fully rebuilt sections, Jinshanling shows the scars of history. Half is restored, half is wild. You can often hike for 20 minutes without seeing another person, allowing for perfect photos and quiet contemplation.

This direct entry ticket offers the smoothest arrival. Your ID will be registered directly with the park system. Upon arrival, ignore the ticket office lines and simply swipe your passport at the turnstile.

Enter at the Main Gate (Zhuanduokou). Hike east towards the "General Tower" and keep going to the "East Five-Window Tower." The hike offers steep ups and downs, giving you a real workout and the most dramatic views of the "Dragon" winding over the mountains.
