Experience the magic of Sydney's underwater world with a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience at the iconic Cabbage Tree Bay Aquatic Reserve, Sydney's oldest protected marine reserve. Perfect for complete beginners, this half-day adventure lets you discover what it's like to breathe underwater with the guidance of a professional PADI Instructor.

Your experience begins at our award-winning PADI Dive Centre in Manly, where you'll meet your instructor, complete a short safety briefing, and be fitted with premium scuba equipment. From there, you'll head to the sheltered waters of Shelly Beach or Fairlight Beach, where your instructor will introduce you to the basics of scuba diving. You'll learn how to use the equipment, communicate underwater, and practice a few simple skills in shallow water until you feel relaxed and comfortable.

Once you're ready, it's time for the adventure to begin. Together with your instructor, you'll enjoy a guided shore dive through one of Sydney's most spectacular underwater environments. As you gently descend beneath the surface, you'll discover rocky ledges, kelp forests, and an incredible variety of marine life.

Every dive is different, but you may encounter the friendly Eastern Blue Groper, New South Wales' state fish, giant cuttlefish, stingrays, octopus, colourful nudibranchs, wobbegong sharks, schools of fish, and seasonal tropical visitors. If you're lucky, you may even spot a turtle gliding effortlessly through the reserve.

With small group sizes and plenty of time to build your confidence, you'll quickly relax and enjoy the unique sensation of weightlessness as you explore a world that few people ever get to experience.
