Enter via the Wulingyuan East Gate (Flag Gate) and take the East A route toward Tianzi Mountain to avoid the morning queues at the Bailong Elevator. Ride the Tianzi Mountain cable car up, visit Yuanjiajie (Qiankun Pillar / Mihun Terrace) while the light is still angled and the mist hasn't burned off, then descend via the Bailong Elevator.
