From Foča: Zelengora Lakes & Tito's Villa 4WD Tour

4WD transfer to Zelengora, a walk past glacial lakes, swimming at Donje Bare, lunch at the Borić viewpoint, and a visit to Tito's villa ruins — the most accessible tour in Sutjeska National Park.
Zelengora is not a mountain for mountaineers. It's a mountain for everyone green meadows opening between peaks, lakes that look like mirrors, and a silence that's hard to find anywhere else. The tour begins in Foča, where we board a 4WD vehicle and head into the heart of Sutjeska National Park.
The first stop is Donje Bare a glacial mountain lake surrounded by meadows and forest. But this is more than just a beautiful spot. This is where Josip Broz Tito built his mountain villa. He had a habit of choosing only the most beautiful places, and Donje Bare could not be left out. The ruins of the villa still stand today, a quiet witness to a different era.
From Donje Bare we continue to Gornje Bare and the Borić viewpoint a panorama that your guide considers unmatched anywhere in the National Park. Green meadows below, mountain ridges all around, and Maglić on the horizon. This is where we stop for lunch.
The final stop is Ugljesin peak, where the whole landscape opens up around you. Total hiking distance is around 5 kilometres easy to moderate, with no demanding climbs. This tour is perfect for families, couples, and anyone who wants real wilderness without compromising on comfort.
If you're lucky and on Zelengora, you often are you'll spot wild chamois, roe deer or hares moving through the meadows. The mountain has a way of showing itself to those who slow down enough to look.
We return to Foča after 8 hours in the mountains. No special fitness required. Just good company and open eyes.
