As an experienced art historian (MA and PhD candidate) specialised in Old Masters and 19th century European art and a love for food and wine, I commit my time to sharing stories about art, history, and flavours of the Provence with all passionate enthousiasts. My in-depth knowlegde of European art will make your walk feel more than a tour - it's seeing the city through the eyes of the artists that painted and described its remarkable contours.
AIX-EN-PROVENCE known as the city of a thousand fountains, is one of the most elegant cities of the Provence and France in general. With more private mansions per capita than Paris, the city brings a refined ambience with its Roman remnants, 17th century architecture and strong ties with modern art through Paul Cézanne. On this tour you will be discovering the cathedral Saint-Sauveur and its important French primitive triptych, wandering through the picturesque city centre, and stepping into Paul Cézanne's shoes in the city that shaped him.
Local produce such as olives, sweets and other tasty specialities will be sampled on the way.

- This tour visits all sites from the exterior, and interior if they are for free. Sites such as Cézanne's studio in Aix-en-Provence or the amphitheatre in Arles, for example, will be visited from the exterior only. Should you wish to visit these sites after the tour, you will be able to purchase tickets without difficulty at the entrance.
- The food you will taste is not enough to still a hunger or replace breakfast/lunch. However, we can always stop for a cold beverage or bite to eat in case you feel a bit peckish.
