This is a private walking tour of the medieval city of Montpellier. Patrice will meet you on the steps of the Opera House on the Comedie square and take you through the intricate streets of the medieval city also known as "Ecusson". You will learn about the city’s history, culture, and economy from the time of its creation in 985 to now. You will see the remains of the original historic walls surrounding Montpellier, briefly walk the Santiago trail, see the birth place of Jacques Ier d'Aragon / James I of Aragon also named "the Conqueror", you will discover the place where Marie de Montpellier married Pierre II D'Aragon and learn about the brief passage of Nostradamus at the medicine school of Montpellier. You will see the imprint that Louis XIV left on the city of Montpellier and understand how Montpellier transformed itself during the 1800's; you will walk in the steps of Jean Moulin, the chief of the French resistance. Through this time travel walk you will also discover all of the charming squares and churches that Montpellier has to offer..
