The Maasai are well known for their unique customs and culture, including vibrant colorful clothing, intricate hairstyles, elaborate jewelry and face painting. Their way of life, the animals they keep, and their traditional rituals and dances make them popular around the world.

This tour is designed for you to meet the Maasai people, see their dress code, their traditional houses known as Manyatta, their sheep, goats and cattle. You will have time to interact with them, an opportunity to wear their colorful traditional clothes and jewelry, enter their traditional houses and take part in traditional rituals and dances, including throwing the Maasai spear and club (Rungu). You will learn a lot about their history and culture, how their society is organized, how the family unit is built and run and the different roles and responsibilities of the Maasai men, women, young men (warriors), girls and children. In the Maasai village you will see how they construct their houses, how they make their jewelry and how they prepare their food. You will learn why the Maasai highly value their animals and how the animals are beneficial to the people. You will even get a chance to milk an animal. You will get good insight into the Maasai customs like marriage, circumcision and religion.
