Begin your tour in Kathmandu, a land of ancient traditions and spiritual blessings. Leaving Kathmandu behind, notice the landscape transform into higher hills. Catch occasional glimpses of the majestic Himalayan peaks that guard the sacred lands of Kailash and Mansarovar in the plateau of Tibet.
Arrive in Kerung, your gateway into Tibet past Nepal. Once you cross Rasuwagadhi, the border village of Nepal and Tibet, see a land that is distinct and separate. The Tibetan plateau stretches before you, vast and austere. Its stark, sublime beauty at the roof of the world is undeniable.
When you arrive in Tibet, your first stop is the town of Gyirong, where you will pause to acclimatize. Here, some travelers claim to feel the mystical aura of ancient pilgrims and countless others who have taken this journey before you.
