Experience the spectacular Lyngen Alps while driving a snowmobile in beautiful scenery at Camp Troll, where everything is inspired by trolls.
Based in Lyngen near Tromsø, visit Camp Troll and experience a day of exploration, excitement, and fun on a snowmobile safari. You can drive a snowmobile beneath giant mountains and learn how these spectacular summits inspired Norwegian Folklore.
Depart from Tromsø city center by bus which will take you all the way to Camp Troll.
On arrival at base camp, meet your guide and listen as they detail practical instructions on how to handle a snowmobile. Watch a safety demonstration and then get changed before heading out.
Drive your snowmobile in pairs (one driver and one passenger) and get the opportunity to switch drivers at the halfway point. Travel deep into nature whilst exploring the mythical world of trolls on a scenic trail through the Lyngen Alps.
Enjoy time in the beautiful scenery and take pictures, keeping an eye out for the magical trolls you’ll be learning about. Later, head back to the base camp to enjoy a hot meal served around the fire before you depart.
With a full stomach, return to the ferry after your tour, where you will return to Tromsø.
Please note: Snowmobiles are shared (even if you make a booking as 1 guest).
1 spot = 1 person. We are unable to add any extra spots, as we have a limited number of snowmobiles.
The duration of the tour includes transfer to Camp Troll and back to Tromsø, a safety brief, and lunch. You will spend approximately 2.5 hours on the snowmobile.
Departure Time: 8:30 AM. Please be at the pickup location a minimum of 15 minutes before departure time. The bus cannot wait for late arrivals.
Location: Prosteneset Bus and Boat Terminal, Samuel Arnesens Gate 5, 9008 Tromsø, Norway. The bus is located on the ground floor, INSIDE the teminal building.
If you miss the bus, you will need to travel to Camp Troll at your own expense.
After your snowmobile safari, we will transfer you back to Tromsø. The approximate return time is 4:30 PM.

Bus: The Arctic Route Bus departs promptly at 8:30 AM.
Arrival Recommendation: Please arrive at least 15 minutes early (by 8:15 AM) as it can be busy. The bus will not wait for late arrivals.
Journey Details:
The bus takes you to all the way to Camp Troll.
If you miss the bus, you must arrange transport to Camp Troll at your own expense.
You will retun to Tromsø, arriving at approximately 4:30 PM.
