As you make your way along the tranquil trails, your guide will highlight the towering Kauri trees and graceful Nikau Palms, sharing insights into the rich ecological and cultural history of the area—including its significance as a site of ancient Māori settlements.

As dusk falls and the forest begins to quiet, you’ll arrive at a secluded spot known for its glowworm displays. Here, you’ll witness the mesmerizing bioluminescence of Arachnocampa luminosa, tiny larvae that illuminate the darkness with a soft blue-green glow.
