From Cusco: Private 2-Day Humantay Lake and Salkantay Pass

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Challacancha – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake

Begin with pickup from your hotel in Cusco at 4:00 a.m. and head to the town of Mollepata. Upon arrival, enjoy a buffet breakfast, offering a variety of options so that each passenger can choose according to their preference and start the day with plenty of energy.

After breakfast, continue your journey by 18-passenger tourist transportation to Challacancha, the starting point of your hike. Throughout the experience, the group will be accompanied by a private guide exclusively for your group, who will provide personalized assistance and information during the hike.

From Challacancha, begin a hike of approximately 3 hours to Soraypampa, located at 3,900 m above sea level. Upon arrival, enjoy a served lunch, specially prepared for the group.

In the afternoon, begin the ascent to the spectacular Humantay Lake, located at 4,200 m above sea level. The uphill hike takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, depending on the pace of the group.

Upon reaching the lake, have time to enjoy the breathtaking scenery, admire its turquoise waters, and appreciate the views of Humantay Mountain. There will also be time to take photographs and enjoy this incredible natural setting.

After visiting the lake, return to Soraypampa, where you will enjoy a served dinner before spending the night in comfortable domes, surrounded by spectacular Andean landscapes.

Day 2: Soraypampa – Salkantaypampa – Salkantay Pass – Mollepata – Cusco

After breakfast at Soraypampa, enjoy a served breakfast, specially prepared for each passenger. Then, begin your hike accompanied by your private guide exclusively for the group, who will provide assistance and personalized guidance throughout the route.

Begin with a gradual hike of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to Salkantaypampa, enjoying the impressive Andean landscapes and surrounding mountains. From Salkantaypampa, begin the ascent through the area known as the “7 Serpents,” a zigzag trail that takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to reach the Salkantay Pass, located at 4,630 m above sea level.

The Salkantay Pass is the highest point of your hike. From here, enjoy spectacular views of Salkantay Mountain and Humantay Mountain, with time to rest, take photographs, and appreciate the incredible scenery.

Afterward, begin the approximately 2 hour and 30 minute descent to Soraypampa. Once you arrive in Soraypampa, board your 18-passenger tourist transportation and travel to Mollepata, where you will enjoy a buffet lunch, with a variety of food options to choose from after your hike.

After lunch, continue your journey back to Cusco, arriving at approximately 6:00 p.m.
