Manu National Park from Cusco

During this tour to Manu National Park from Cusco, you will access the cultural zone of the park.
DAY 1
Accommodation: Orquídeas de San Pedro Lodge

We will depart from Cusco between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., starting our 4-day tour to Manu National Park. Our journey will take us through stunning inter-Andean valleys and local communities. We'll visit the charming colonial town of Paucartambo, known for its picturesque main square, a historical monument of Peru.

Cloud Forest and San Pedro Orchids

Continuing our route, we'll stop for lunch before reaching the Cloud Forest, a haven for numerous endemic species, including the iconic cock of the rock, Peru's national bird. After enjoying the incredible landscapes, we'll head to the San Pedro Orchids Lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

DAY 2
Accommodation: Erika Lodge

Cock of the Rocks, Koñeq, and Upper Madre de Dios Rivers

We'll rise early to witness the mesmerizing courtship dance of the Cock of the Rock. After breakfast, we'll travel to Pilcopata. Optional and free of charge, you can join a one-hour canoe trip on the Koñeq and upper Madre de Dios rivers.

Puerto Atalaya and Erika Lodge

In Puerto Atalaya, we'll begin a boat descent, offering opportunities to spot diverse bird species such as vultures, cormorants, and herons. Arriving at the "Erika" Private Reserve, we'll walk to the lodge for the night.

DAY 3
Accommodation: Erika Lodge

Machuwasi Lagoon

Following an early breakfast, we'll embark on a hike through Manu National Park. After crossing the river by boat, our guide will introduce us to the fascinating flora of the area. At Machuwasi Lagoon, we'll board canoes to observe hoatzin birds, monkeys, capybaras, and even caimans.

Return to Erika Lodge and Night Walk

After dinner, we'll take a night walk to experience the nocturnal jungle life, filled with sounds and sightings of various insects and amphibians.

DAY 4
Parrot Clay Lick

We'll start the day with an early breakfast and then take a boat to the parrot clay lick. Here, we'll observe parrots visiting a clay wall to scratch for salts and minerals.

Return to Cusco

After returning to the Erika Lodge to collect our belongings, we'll head to Puerto de Atalaya, concluding our tour of Manu National Park from Cusco. From there, we'll board a bus back to Cusco.
