SACRED VALLEY TOUR TO MACHU PICCHU 2 DAYS

DAY 1 CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS
Our transfer staff will pick you up in Cusco, so we can begin our journey to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, driving along the Urubamba River. First we will visit the archaeological site of Pisac*, which is a complex of terraces, fountains, observatories and a necropolis. We will admire spectacular views of the Sacred Valley, and our local guide will share his knowledge of Inca history and culture. The Inca site is built on the top of a mountain that rises above the small town of Pisac; The views of the countryside are spectacular and the ruins are remarkable. Then we will visit the Pisac artisan market and continue our trip to Ollantaytambo. The Inca complex of Ollantaytambo* was built to protect the valley from rainforest invasions. In the afternoon, we will take the train to Aguas Calientes, the town at the foot of the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu. We will stay in a hotel in Aguas Calientes.

*NOTE: Entrance tickets to the archaeological sites of Pisac and Ollantaytambo are not included and can be purchased for 80.00 Soles per person.

DAY 2 HOT WATERS – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
Early in the morning we will take the bus that will take us to the Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, the “Lost City of the Incas”. This complex is considered a jewel of Inca architecture. It is a complete city with different neighborhoods, squares, alleys, buildings, astronomical observatories and terraces. The city was rediscovered on July 24, 1911 by the American researcher Hiram Bingham. We will learn everything about the Inca civilization and interesting facts about this sacred place. After a guided tour, we will have enough time to explore this magical place on our own.

For those who have previously selected to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, they will do so at the designated time (1st group: 6am to 8am, 2nd group: 9am to 11am).

Later, we will take the bus to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will have lunch at a local restaurant. We will take our train back to Ollantaytambo, where our transfer staff will pick us up and take us back to Cusco.
