Puno: City tour private

On this tour of Puno we will visit one of the most prominent cities in southern Peru. In addition, we will visit the Yavarí Museum Ship, the first of its kind in the entire country.

We will begin with a guided walking tour in which we will see the Independence Arch or Deusta, built in honor of the patriots of the battles of Junín and Ayacucho. Near this monument is the Wajsapata viewpoint, a small hill that we will climb to enjoy a magnificent view of the bay of Puno.

We will also see the impressive sculpture of the Puma, which crowns a water fountain that symbolizes the sacred lake of the Incas. We will continue through Pino Park on the way to the
historic center of Puno, where we will visit the church of San Juan, which houses the image of the Virgin of Candelaria.
Next we will cross Lima Boulevard, one of the city's commercial streets, until we reach the Plaza de Armas. Here we will see the cathedral and the balcony of the Count of Lemos, located in the residence where the viceroy stayed upon his arrival in Puno in 1668.

After this visit, we will board a bus to go to the Yavarí Museum Ship, a 19th century gunboat that was part of the Peruvian Navy. The ship was built in a shipyard in England and transported to Lake Titicaca on a difficult journey.

We will visit the museum that is housed inside, and we will learn the interesting story of how this iron ship has become the first museum ship in Peru.

Finally, after four hours of tour, we will take you back to your hotel in Puno
