Embark on a thrilling wilderness adventure starting from your hotel in and around the Ella area, as we take you into the legendary YALA National Park, home to the world's most concentrated population of leopards.

After starting the journey with you from Ella, we are aiming to be in the YALA National Park at dawn or dusk. These are two of the best times of the day, which gives you the highest chance of spotting the elusive Sri Lankan leopards, which is a leopard subspecies native to Sri Lanka. YALA boasts approximately a hundred individual leopards.

What happens on a typical day on safari?

a. Pick-up time at 3.30 a.m. - from the Ella area
Select one of the following times to pick you up when booking.
(3.30 a.m. / 4.00 a.m. / 4.30 a.m. / 5.00 a.m. / 5.30 a.m. / 11.30 a.m. / 12.00 p.m.) Times in the following itinerary are given by considering the pickup time as 3.30 a.m. Please adjust the times according to the pickup time you select.
b. Get down from the transfer vehicle (Air-conditioned Car or minivan) and get into the 4X4 Toyota Hilux safari vehicle - at Tissamaharama at around 5.30 a.m.
c. Morning wildlife safari/ game drive (Starting at 6.00 a.m.)
d. Break at Patanangala Beach in YALA National Park (20-30 minutes, which gives you time to enjoy your picnic breakfast - You can additionally buy it from us)
e. Continue the morning wildlife safari/ game drive (Ending at around 9.30 a.m.)
f. Get down from the 4X4 Toyota Hilux vehicle and get into the transfer vehicle (Air-conditioned Car or minivan) - at Tissamaharama at around 10.00 a.m.
g. You may be able to witness the wild elephants by the side of the road while passing Lahugala area
h. Drop-off time at around 1.30 p.m. - in and around the Arugam Bay beach area.

We use only the rugged Toyota Hilux 4x4 vehicle for the safaris, specially equipped to navigate the YALA National Park's diverse off-road conditions easily.

Marvel at the sight of majestic elephants, graceful spotted deer, and elusive sloth bears, among a plethora of other mesmerizing species. Your knowledgeable driver cum guide will regale you with insights into the behaviours and habitats of YALA's diverse wildlife, enriching your safari experience. With over 130 avian species gracing its skies, YALA also offers a birdwatcher's paradise. After many hours of exhilarating exploration, return to your hotel in the Arugam Bay beach area, as a person filled with memories of a lifetime and has a newfound appreciation for the wonders of one of the best spots in Sri Lanka's majestic wilderness.

As an authorized company to offer safari services in YALA National Park, all of our 4X4 vehicles have the necessary approvals and all of our drivers have the special licenses to provide their service as safari drivers in the YALA National Park, which are issued by the Department of Wildlife Conservation in Sri Lanka.
