Private Yilan Day Tour from Taipei: Tea, Nature & Arts

Explore Yilan from Taipei with tea picking, traditional tea making, a waterfall walk, a Dongshan River boat ride, and Taiwan’s traditional arts and culture.
Escape the busy streets of Taipei and discover a different side of Taiwan on a full-day journey through the countryside of Yilan. Begin your day with a convenient morning pickup from your hotel in Taipei and travel to Dongshan, a charming rural area known for its tea gardens, natural scenery, and traditional culture.

Your first stop is Huajian Tea Language (Ling Gong Wei Tea Shop), where you will discover the local tea culture through a hands-on countryside experience. Take a guided walk through the tea garden, learn how tea is grown, and try dressing up in a fun rural-style outfit for photos.

Rather than simply watching a tea demonstration, you will have the opportunity to participate in the traditional process yourself. Pick fresh tea leaves by hand and experience traditional tea roasting and tea rolling techniques. Afterwards, relax around the stove while enjoying freshly brewed tea and local tea snacks.

You will also have the chance to taste a Jasmine Black Tea Milk Jelly Drink, and take home a bottle of cold-brewed tea, a dedicated tea cup, and a pack of handmade tea as souvenirs.

Continue to Zhongshan Chicken Farm, where you can take a break and enjoy lunch at your own expense.

In the afternoon, visit Xinliao Waterfall, a peaceful natural attraction surrounded by lush greenery. Take a leisurely walk and enjoy the fresh air and scenery of Yilan's countryside.

Next, head to Dongshan River Water Park. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride across the park and experience one of Yilan's scenic waterways from a different perspective.

Your final stop is the National Center for Traditional Arts, where you can explore traditional Taiwanese architecture, crafts, food, and cultural experiences. Wander through the historic-style streets and discover the charm of Taiwan's traditional arts and everyday culture.

After visiting the National Center for Traditional Arts, you can choose to visit Luodong Night Market and experience its lively local atmosphere and delicious Taiwanese street food, or return directly to Taipei for a more relaxed end to your day.
