Travel in a private 4x4 with a driver, hike the Dahar Mountains with local guides, spend two nights following a traditional camel caravan through the Sahara, and discover the mountain oases and palm groves of southwestern Tunisia.

Day 1: Tunis – El Jem – Mahdia

Depart Tunis by private 4x4 toward the Sahel. Visit El Jem and its magnificent Roman amphitheater. Continue to Mahdia, the former Fatimid capital, and explore its medina and old port.

Day 2: Mahdia – Chenini – Douiret

Head south to the Dahar Mountains and Chenini, a historic Berber village. With a local guide, enjoy an approximately 2.5-hour hike through mountain trails and visit the Mosque of the Seven Sleepers. Have lunch at Azoul Guesthouse before continuing to Douiret.

Day 3: Douiret – Ksar Hadada – Ksar Hallouf – Dar Sana

Explore Tataouine and its lively souk before visiting Ksar Hadada, a remarkable fortified ksar. Continue to Ksar Hallouf and Dar Sana for lunch. After tea, enjoy another approximately 2.5-hour hike through the Dahar before returning for dinner.

Day 4: Ksar Hallouf – Toujane – Matmata – Ksar Ghilane

Discover Toujane, a beautiful Berber mountain village, then visit Matmata, famous for its traditional troglodyte homes. After lunch, cross the changing landscapes toward Ksar Ghilane. Enjoy its oasis and natural hot spring before heading to camp.

Day 5: Ksar Ghilane – Douz – Nomadic Camp

Travel by 4x4 to Douz, gateway to the Sahara. Meet your nomadic team, have lunch, then leave the vehicle behind and begin your camel caravan. Cross the dunes toward the first bivouac and enjoy traditional tea and sunset.

Day 6: Sahara – Second Nomadic Camp

Wake in the desert and continue the camel caravan across vast sandy landscapes. Enjoy a lunch break before returning to the dunes in the afternoon. Experience the silence and immensity of the Sahara before reaching the second bivouac.

Day 7: Nomadic Camp – Douz

Enjoy a final morning with the caravan, followed by a picnic lunch before saying goodbye to your nomadic companions. Return to Douz and check in at Sahara Douz Hotel. Spend the afternoon exploring the palm grove, discovering the town, or relaxing.

Day 8: Douz – Chott El Jérid – Chebika – Tamerza – Midès

Cross Chott El Jérid, Tunisia's spectacular salt lake, then explore the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza. Continue to Midès and its dramatic gorge. If authorization is granted by the National Guard, a hike through the Midès gorges will be organized.

Day 9: Tamerza – Tozeur

Descend toward Tozeur and explore its historic quarters, distinctive geometric brick architecture, and famous palm grove. Enjoy free time to discover the medina, local crafts, and oasis.

Day 10: Tozeur – Final Day

Enjoy a relaxed final day in the Jérid. Your private 4x4 and driver remain at your disposal for a final excursion around Tozeur, a visit to Nefta, a palm-grove walk, or simply free time to relax.
