الوصف
One day to discover the Berber villages Zriba Alia and Takrouna in the Atlas mountains, the Roman aqueduct which supplied before Carthage with water and the biggest resort in Tunisia Hammamet.
Your day trip begins with a visit to the Roman aqueduct of Zaghouan, an impressive structure that supplied Carthage with water for centuries. From there, continue to the ruins of Zriba El Alia, an abandoned Berber village nestled in the Atlas Mountains, offering a glimpse into a way of life that once thrived in the region.
Another Berber village, Takrouna, awaits with its breathtaking panoramic views and a history marked by a significant World War II battle.
Your exploration then leads to the Medina of Hammamet, a charming and historic quarter filled with narrow streets, traditional markets, and a fortress built by the Arabs in the 9th century. This fortress, which later became a haven for pirates in the 17th century, stands as a reminder of the town’s storied past.
After a break for lunch (additional cost), the journey continues to the Villa Sebastian, a beautiful estate built in 1920 by a Romanian aristocrat. This villa played a pivotal role in the beginnings of tourism in Tunisia and remains a symbol of the country’s appeal to travelers and artists alike.
