You’ll begin with a guided tasting of China’s 6 classic tea categories: green, white, yellow, oolong, black, and pu’er. An English-speaking guide will walk you through each cup — the terroir behind a Longjing green tea, the aged earthiness of a pu’er, the delicate complexity of a white — helping you develop a real vocabulary for Chinese tea that goes far beyond “hot or iced.” The setting is a traditional Shikumen lanehouse, one of Shanghai’s most iconic and disappearing architectural styles.

Then it’s time for mahjong. You’ll walk with your host to a neighborhood parlor — not a hotel activity room, but the kind of place where locals gather to play, laugh, and spend an afternoon together.
