Beschreibung
Beat the crowds on an early train from Munich to Salzburg. Discover Mozart, The Sound of Music, and hidden gems before enjoying free time with our exclusive Explorer Map.
Escape Munich for the day and discover the magic of Salzburg before the crowds arrive on this relaxed small-group rail experience.
Travel through the beautiful Bavarian countryside into Austria before arriving in one of Europe's most enchanting UNESCO World Heritage cities. Because of our early departure, you'll experience Salzburg at its most peaceful—when the streets are quieter, the gardens are calmer, and the city's timeless beauty can truly be appreciated.
Your guide will introduce you to the stories that shaped Salzburg. Walk through the magnificent Mirabell Gardens, follow in Mozart's footsteps, explore the elegant Cathedral District, stroll along the famous Getreidegasse, and discover iconic filming locations from The Sound of Music. Along the way you'll uncover hidden courtyards, fascinating local traditions, and stories that bring the city to life far beyond the guidebooks.
Unlike large coach tours, our maximum group size of just 14 guests creates a more relaxed and personal experience. There's time to ask questions, enjoy meaningful conversations, and experience the city without feeling rushed from one attraction to the next.
After your guided introduction, the afternoon is entirely yours!
Ride the funicular to Hohensalzburg Fortress for breathtaking views over the Alps, browse charming local boutiques, visit Mozart's birthplace, enjoy an authentic Austrian lunch, relax in a traditional café, or simply wander the beautiful streets at your own pace.
To help you make the most of your free time, every guest receives our exclusive The Local Experience Explorer Guide—a carefully curated guide featuring our favourite restaurants, cafés, viewpoints, hidden gems, shopping recommendations, and optional walking routes that most visitors never discover.
With round-trip regional train travel included, an experienced guide accompanying you throughout the day, and a carefully designed itinerary that balances guided discovery with genuine freedom to explore, this isn't simply a day trip to Salzburg—it's the perfect way to experience one of Europe's most beautiful cities.
