The tour kicks off around 8:20 AM, with flexible departure times based on your location. After arriving at the pier, hop aboard a voadeira (motorboat) and begin a smooth, scenic ride down the river.
Your first destination is the charming village of Vassouras, known for its seasonal lagoons that appear during the rainy months—ideal for a quick dip. But the true stars of this stop are the lively capuchin monkeys, who freely roam the area and love the attention from visitors. This is a great moment to take photos and connect with the local wildlife.
Back on the boat, we navigate further to the traditional village of Mandacaru, where a true highlight awaits: the iconic Preguiças Lighthouse. Climb to the top for an unforgettable 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape—rivers, ocean, dunes, and green stretches of nature. Mandacaru also offers colorful stalls with local crafts, as well as refreshing treats like regional fruit ice cream and the famous Brazilian caipirinhas.
Our final stop is at Caburé Beach, a natural strip of sand that separates the river from the Atlantic Ocean. On one side: calm river waters. On the other: crashing ocean waves. It's a unique spot where you can swim in fresh or salt water—or both. You'll have free time to relax, sunbathe, or take a dip. Lunch (not included) is served at one of the beachside restaurants, with delicious options like grilled fish and shrimp, straight from the sea.
The tour usually begins its return journey around 2:30 PM, with arrival at the departure point estimated for 3:30 PM. Throughout the day, your pilot-guide will ensure a safe, enjoyable experience, sharing local knowledge and coordinating each stop.
