APOPO & Banteay Srei: Cambodia’s Past and Present

Visit APOPO to learn about its visitor program, then explore Banteay Srei Temple and the surrounding countryside on a private trip with an English-speaking driver.
Experience two different sides of Cambodia on a private trip combining a visit to the APOPO Visitor Center, a journey through the countryside, and a visit to Banteay Srei Temple.

Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in Siem Reap. Meet your English-speaking driver and travel in a comfortable, private, air-conditioned vehicle.

Your first stop is the APOPO Visitor Center, where you can visit the center and learn about its work through the visitor experience and exhibits. The visit offers an opportunity to understand how specially trained rats are used in humanitarian work, including detecting landmines and supporting communities affected by explosive remnants of war.

After the APOPO visit, continue through the countryside toward Banteay Srei Temple. Enjoy the changing scenery along the way, including rural roads, rice fields, villages, and traditional Cambodian landscapes.

At Banteay Srei, explore the temple grounds independently and admire the detailed sandstone carvings and distinctive architectural features. Take your time walking around the site, photographing the surroundings, and enjoying the quieter atmosphere outside central Siem Reap.

Your English-speaking driver provides private transportation between the locations and assists with the itinerary throughout the day. At each attraction, you are free to explore independently at your own pace. A licensed tour guide is not included.

After visiting Banteay Srei, relax in the air-conditioned vehicle during the return journey to Siem Reap. Your driver will drop you off safely at your hotel or accommodation.

This private trip combines an educational visitor experience, Cambodian countryside scenery, and an independent visit to one of the area's distinctive temple sites, making it suitable for travelers looking for something beyond a standard city sightseeing itinerary.
