Beschreibung

Enjoy golden hour for 2 hours on Kamoauli, a traditional Polynesian catamaran. Dinner & live music are included. Experience a sunset oli (chant), hands-on cultural activities, and relax in our nets.
Welcome aboard Kamoauli, a traditional Polynesian voyaging canoe with a proud lineage. Today, Kamoauli serves as a living cultural vessel and a dedicated social enterprise. Every premium guest sail directly funds entirely free, hands-on place-based educational voyages for local school-aged keiki (children). When you sail with us, you are not just booking a tour—you are actively helping perpetuate authentic Hawaiian and Polynesian culture.

A Magical Golden Hour on the Waikiki Coast: End your day in the most breathtaking way possible. The evening golden hour is a magical time on the water; the daytime heat cools into a gentle breeze, the ocean glows, and the sunset casting over the coastline is pure magic. As the sun begins its descent, you will experience a traditional Hawaiian sunset oli (chant) to honor the transition of the day and center your journey. Relax in our comfortable netting, take in the evening air, and capture unforgettable, unobstructed photos of the iconic Leʻahi (Diamond Head).

Immersive Cultural Traditions & Hands-on Activities: This is far from a standard tourist sunset cruise. Our onboard cultural practitioners are dedicated to sharing the true heart of Hawai'i through authentic place-based education. During this sail, you will:

Ku'i Kalo: Engage in the traditional practice of kui kalo (pounding taro) on deck and learn its sacred significance to the Hawaiian people.

Hear Ancient Moʻolelo: Listen to captivating stories, history, and voyaging traditions passed down through generations.

Cultural Arts: Participate in immersive activities that vary from lei making and traditional kapa making to learning the movements of hula.

Locally Sourced Flavors & Live Music: Your cultural journey is paired with a delicious, premium taste of the islands. Enjoy a selection of locally sourced Hawaiian food and a sweet dessert served fresh on deck. To stay refreshed, we offer complimentary water, tea, and hydrating coconut water. As we glide along the coast under changing sunset skies, the atmosphere is elevated by the soothing sounds of live music, blending perfectly with the rhythm of the ocean.

Keep Watch for Island Wildlife: The calm evening hours offer wonderful conditions for viewing Hawaii’s incredible marine life. Keep a close eye on the pristine waters of Waikiki! While Mother Nature keeps her own schedule and sightings cannot be strictly guaranteed, our guests frequently spot wild sea turtles (honu) surfacing in the golden light. If you are joining us during the winter season, guests often witness the breathtaking sight of humpback whales.

Perfect for All Generations: With a beautiful balance of structured cultural activities and open time to relax in the netting under the twilight sky, this authentic experience is crafted for guests of all ages. It is an ideal evening outing for families with young children, multi-generational groups, or couples looking for a meaningful, romantic connection to the islands.
