What Is Via Ferrata?
"Via Ferrata" means “iron way” in Italian. Originally developed during WWI to help troops cross steep mountain terrain, Via Ferratas have since become popular alpine routes for recreational climbing, especially in Europe. Jackson Hole brings this iconic experience to the Tetons with 15 unique routes that vary in difficulty, offering something for everyone—from first-timers to seasoned climbers.

Requirements
Participants must:
• Be at least 12 years old
• Weigh between 90–220 lbs
• Be able to walk and climb on uneven terrain
• Have no injuries limiting mobility

Age Requirements: 12 years or older
Weight Requirements: 90-250 lbs
This tour will not take place (or could be delayed or cut short) if there is lightning in the area.
This is a physical activity at high elevation.
If guests show up and are under 90 lbs or over 250 lbs they will be required to pay for an additional guide.
If guests show up and they have a child under age 12 that plans to participate, they will be required to pay for an additional guide (if the child is under 10 they will be turned away without a refund).
You must sign your waiver and pick up tickets with the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort's Mountain Sports School. Park in the lot near 3275 W Village Dr, Teton Village, WY 83025. Look for the large clock tower and walk up the outdoor stairs to the right until you reach the Bridger Center, where you will find the Mountain Sports School office.
