Rovaniemi: Authentic Ice Fishing with a Local Fisherman ⭐Ice Fishing Highlights |2h| Try Ice Fishing | Most Popular

Step onto the frozen waters of Lapland and try authentic ice fishing with a local fisherman. Drill your own hole, learn traditional techniques and experience the peaceful Arctic wilderness.
Experience one of Lapland's most authentic winter traditions and discover what ice fishing is really about. Step onto frozen waters, drill your own fishing hole and learn techniques that local fishermen have used across Finnish Lapland for generations.

This experience was created by Arctic Safari Guides founder Timo, a lifelong Lapland local and passionate fisherman who has spent decades fishing the lakes, rivers and wilderness waters of the region. His experience and knowledge are at the heart of the tour, from choosing the fishing location to understanding ice conditions, local fish species and traditional techniques.

Rather than visiting exactly the same place every day, the fishing location can be selected according to current weather, ice conditions and where the fish are most likely to be active. Depending on conditions, you may fish on a frozen river or lake around Rovaniemi.

Your guide will show you how to drill a hole through the ice, use traditional Finnish ice fishing equipment and try your luck beneath the frozen surface. Whether you catch your first fish or simply enjoy the silence of the Arctic landscape, ice fishing offers a genuine connection to the traditional outdoor life of Lapland.
