Begin your adventure with a scenic drive south from Hobart to Tahune Adventures, one of southern Tasmania’s must-see attractions.
Walk high above the forest canopy on the Tahune Airwalk and share the lives of the forest giants from up close. Look down to the place where the wild waters of the Huon and Picton Rivers mingle.
Reach the end of the 600-meter walkway at a spectacular cantilevered platform 50 meters above the riverbank, with views extending to the mountains of the World Heritage Area.
Try the thrilling 400-meter cable Eagle Hang Glider (ticket purchased separately on site). Soar like an eagle from a lofty perch high in the treetops, feeling the wind beneath your wings as you dip and swoop across the Huon River.
The Huon Pine Walk is easily managed by most people and is one of the best places in Tasmania to see young and mature Huon pines growing in their natural riverine rainforest environment.
Follow the forest and riverside trail to the Swinging Bridges track, crossing two suspension bridges across the rushing waters of the Picton and Huon Rivers. The churning, tannin-colored water beneath your feet began as rain and snow, deep in the Southwest wilderness.
Take a break to enjoy local Tasmanian produce in the cafe, including the Huon Valley’s wonderful cool-climate wines and local ciders. Pause for a snack, light meal, tea, coffee, or a waffle-cone ice cream. Browse in the gift shop and choose a piece of Huon pine with its unique scent to remind you of your visit.

WICHTIGE INFORMATIONEN
The Tahune Airwalk is 600 metres long and ends at a platform 50 metres above the riverbank.
The Huon Pine Walk is suitable for all ages.
The Swinging Bridges track includes two suspension bridges.
Wheelchair hire available and access for those with mobility needs can be arranged
The estimated travel time from Hobart to Tahune with no stops is 1.5 hrs drive south. Head down the Huon Hwy towards Geeveston, from Geeveston make sure you follow the signs to Tahune Adventures on Arve Road. This road (Arve Road) is a SEALED ROAD, be sure to avoid any dirt/gravel roads all the way to the site to arrive safely. There is a Tahune Adventures signpost at multiple junctions on the drive. Travel time from Geeveston to Tahune is approximately 30 minutes.
Please note: There is very limited GPS/Mobile coverage in the area, so please follow signposts from Geeveston. It’s highly recommended NOT to rely on GPS as some maps will try and take you gravel roads with no signs.
