Discover the beauty of laos on a 3-day tour. Explore the Nam Kayo Laba Scenic Area, visit a Khmu village, hike to Pabu Viewpoint, and kayak on the Nam Ou River.
Begin your adventure with a pickup at Muang Xay Railway Station. Head to the Nam Kayo Laba Scenic Area, a natural and ecotourism destination in Oudomxay Province. Enjoy waterfall views, forest adventures, and ethnic cultural experiences.
Hike along the stream to explore the waterfalls, passing through dipterocarp and bamboo forests, where you might spot wild monkeys. Take a refreshing dip in a natural pool downstream of Namja Waterfall.
Visit a Khmu village to experience traditional textile and bamboo weaving techniques. During local festivals, participate in bonfire parties and other folk activities. Return to Muang Xay and check into your hotel for the night.
The next day, after breakfast, drive to Nongkho. Visit the Bomb Remnant Village, which reflects the contrast between war and peace. Enjoy lunch, then take a boat to Mengwi Village. Admire the karst landscape and jungle scenery along the way.
Upon arrival, head to Pabu Mountain and explore a cave midway up the mountain. Once a refuge for villagers during wartime, the cave's cool, deep, and refreshing atmosphere awaits. Continue hiking along the main trail to Pabu Viewpoint, a 1-2 hour hike to the summit at 850 meters above sea level. Passing streams and bamboo forests along the way, the summit offers panoramic views of Mengwi Village and the winding Nam Ou River.
Kayak on the emerald green Nam Ou River, and in the evening, enjoy the fun of "Sunset Fishing" as children collaborate in the shallows to fish. You can also join in this fun activity.
On the third day, after breakfast, take a boat back to Nongkho, one of the most captivating places in Laos. Nong Kho Village is spread across both sides of the Nam Ou River, connected by a bridge. Surrounded by towering limestone mountains, Nong Kho offers hiking trails to waterfalls and a Khmu village famous for its bamboo and rattan weaving.
Climb to the summit of Red Rock Mountain. Known locally as "Red Peak," this popular viewpoint offers panoramic views of the Nam Ou River and the village. The hike takes approximately 1-2 hours, making it a must-see for backpackers.
Finally, transfer to Luang Prabang, where your adventure concludes.

Locals consider the head sacred and the feet dirty. Avoid touching anyone's head, even a child's.
