Set on a 7-day trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp in the Annapurna region. Enjoy panoramic mountain views, trek through forests, and relax in natural hot springs.
Enjoy a 7-day trek to Mardi Himal Base Camp in Nepal’s Annapurna region. The Mardi Himal Trek is a short trekking route in Nepal’s Annapurna region, officially opened in 2012. It follows a ridge route to Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500 meters, with continuous views of Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli. The trek is less crowded compared to the Annapurna Base Camp trek, making it a practical choice for travelers seeking a quieter trail within a week’s timeframe.

The trip begins with a 200 km drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, which typically takes 6–7 hours depending on traffic and roadwork on the Prithvi Highway. From Pokhara, trekkers are driven to Dhampus before starting the ascent toward Deurali. The trek route passes through forested paths dominated by rhododendron and oak, with occasional settlements such as Pothana and Siding providing rest points.

The highest overnight stay is at High Camp (3,600 m), where tea houses offer basic lodging. From there, a morning climb leads to Mardi Himal Base Camp at 4,500 m. Weather permitting, trekkers see close-up views of the south face of Annapurna and the sharp peak of Machhapuchhre. Descending through villages such as Landruk and Jhinu Danda allows trekkers to experience Gurung culture and natural hot springs before completing the route.
