This 8-day trek combines stunning valley scenery, ancient Tamang culture, and two rewarding summit hikes. Trails are well-marked and teahouse accommodation is available throughout. A professional English-speaking guide and porter are with you every step of the way.
Day-to-Day Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,460m) | 7 to 8 Hours
Drive from Kathmandu through scenic hills, terraced farmlands, and traditional villages. Stop at Dhunche for lunch with lovely mountain views. Arrive in Syabrubesi, the starting point of the trek.
Day 2: Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel (2,470m) | 6 to 7 Hours
Begin your trek following the Langtang River through lush forests of oak, bamboo, and rhododendron. Cross several suspension bridges and pass through small settlements including Bamboo village. Watch out for langur monkeys and colorful Himalayan bird species along the way.
Day 3: Trek from Lama Hotel to Mundu (3,543m) | 6 to 7 Hours
Ascend through dense forests to Ghodatabela, where the valley opens up with magnificent mountain views. Pass through Langtang Village, thoughtfully rebuilt after the 2015 earthquake, and visit the local gompa and prayer wheels. Continue to the peaceful settlement of Mundu with impressive views of the Langtang Himal range.
Day 4: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m) and Hike to Kyanjin Ri (4,773m) | 5 to 6 Hours
Arrive at Kyanjin Gompa and visit the ancient monastery and the famous Kyanjin Cheese Factory, one of the highest dairy farms in the world. In the afternoon, hike up to Kyanjin Ri for spectacular panoramic views of Langtang Lirung, Dorje Lakpa, Gangchempo, and the surrounding glaciers.
Day 5: Hike to Tsergo Ri (4,984m) and Return to Kyanjin Gompa | 7 to 8 Hours
Start early for the most challenging day of the trek. The summit of Tsergo Ri rewards you with breathtaking 360-degree views of the Langtang Himalayas, glaciers, and deep valleys below. Descend back to Kyanjin Gompa for a well-earned rest.
Day 6: Trek from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel (2,470m) | 6 to 7 Hours
Retrace your steps down the Langtang Valley, passing through Mundu, Langtang Village, and Ghodatabela. Enjoy the forests and riverside trails from a new perspective on the descent.
Day 7: Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi (1,460m) | 5 to 6 Hours
Follow the trail downhill through bamboo forests and along the Langtang River. Cross suspension bridges and pass through familiar villages before arriving back in Syabrubesi. Celebrate the completion of your Langtang adventure with your guide and fellow trekkers.
Day 8: Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu | 7 to 8 Hours
Board your vehicle early morning for the scenic drive back to Kathmandu. Enjoy the mountain landscapes and terraced hillsides one last time as you return to the city. Arrive in Kathmandu in the afternoon, with wonderful memories of the Langtang Valley, Kyanjin Ri, and Tsergo Ri to carry home.

WICHTIGE INFORMATIONEN
A moderate-to-good fitness level is required. Prior trekking experience is recommended. The trek reaches 4,984m (Tsergo Ri); acclimatization days are included, but altitude sickness symptoms can occur inform your guide immediately if you feel unwell.
Bring warm layered clothing, broken-in trekking boots, sunscreen (SPF50+), and a -10°C sleeping bag. Plastic bags and bottles are banned in Langtang National Park, carry a reusable bottle.
Teahouse accommodation is basic. Hot showers, Wi-Fi, and charging may cost extra. All permits (National Park + TIMS) are included. Keep your passport accessible at checkpoints.
Travel insurance covering high-altitude trekking and emergency helicopter evacuation is strongly recommended.
