Private Northern Peru Route: Trujillo & Chiclayo

Discover northern Peru’s ancient cultures on a 4-day journey from Trujillo to Chiclayo,exploring Moche and Chimú temples,living traditions,coastal villages,and the legendary tomb of the Lord of Sipán.
Day 1 – Welcome & Living Culture in Trujillo
Arrival at Trujillo Airport and transfer to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy a guided walking tour of the historic center, visiting Casa Urquiaga, Casa de la Emancipación, Palacio Iturregui, the Cathedral, and the Archaeology Museum.
Stop at a local market and have lunch at a recommended restaurant or café.
In the afternoon, attend a cultural show at Casa Campo Alcor featuring the Marinera dance and the elegant Peruvian Paso Horse. Overnight in Trujillo.

Day 2 – Moche & Chimú Archaeological Route
Visit the Huacas de Moche Site Museum, followed by a guided walk through Huacas del Sol y de la Luna, admiring its polychrome murals and learning about Moche rituals.
Stop at a traditional Moche artisan workshop. Lunch at a local restaurant (vegetarian option available).
In the afternoon, visit the Chan Chan Site Museum and explore Chan Chan (Nik An Palace). End the day in Huanchaco, observing traditional reed boats. Overnight in Huanchaco.

Day 3 – El Brujo & Chiclayo
(Optional) Early morning observation of local fishermen using reed boats. After breakfast, travel north through coastal and Andean landscapes.
Arrive at El Brujo Archaeological Complex and visit Huaca Cao Viejo and its Site Museum, home of the famous Lady of Cao. Learn about Moche funerary practices and the role of women in ancient society.
Lunch en route (vegetarian option available) and continue to Chiclayo. Overnight in Chiclayo.

Day 4 – Sipán Route
Guided visit to Chiclayo’s Witch Market to learn about traditional medicine and rituals.
Continue to Huaca Rajada, discovery site of the Lord of Sipán, and its Site Museum. Learn about elite burials and excavation history.
Lunch at a local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit the Royal Tombs of Sipán Museum, considered one of South America’s finest museums, showcasing gold jewelry, ceramics, and textiles. Transfer to Chiclayo Airport.
