Explore the Ausangate Trek 5 days and Rainbow Mountain full circuit: snow-capped peaks, turquoise lakes, high passes, and Andean culture in a unique and challenging adventure.
DAY 1: Cusco – Upis – Upis Hot Springs Camp
We pick you up at 5:00 am from your hotel in Cusco and drive about 3.5 hours to Upis (4,250 m / 13,943 ft), passing Andean villages and stopping in Tinque (3,800 m / 12,467 ft). At the trailhead, we enjoy breakfast with views of Ausangate (6,372 m / 20,900 ft).
The hike begins across Andean fields and rolling pampas, with views of traditional houses, birds, and small lagoons. After about 3 hours, we reach Upis Hot Springs (4,400 m / 14,435 ft), where we have lunch at the base of the glacier. In the afternoon, we visit Upis Lagoon (4,480 m / 14,698 ft) and relax in the hot springs before dinner and overnight camping.

DAY 2: Upis – Arapa Pass – Pucacocha – Anantapata Camp
After breakfast, we hike across Upis Pampa toward Arapa Pass (4,800 m / 15,748 ft), surrounded by llamas and snow peaks. We continue to Yanacocha and Pucacocha lakes, famous for their intense colors. After lunch, we climb to Pucacocha Pass (4,870 m / 15,977 ft), one of the most scenic viewpoints of the Ausangate Circuit.
We descend into a beautiful valley and arrive at Anantapata Camp (4,750 m / 15,583 ft), where we enjoy tea, dinner, and a peaceful night in the Andes.

DAY 3: Rainbow Mountain – Ausangate Qocha Camp
We wake up early to visit Rainbow Mountain (5,100 m / 16,732 ft) before the crowds. After breakfast, we hike to Warmisaya Pass (4,985 m / 16,354 ft) and continue to Vinicunca, enjoying its colorful landscapes.
After exploring, we return to camp for lunch and then hike to Ausangate Qocha Camp (4,500 m / 14,763 ft), located beside a turquoise lake at the foot of Ausangate. Dinner and overnight at camp.

DAY 4: Ausangate Qocha – Palomani Pass – Qampa Camp
Today is the most challenging day. We hike uphill for about 2 hours to Palomani Pass (5,200 m / 17,060 ft), the highest point of the trek. From the top, we enjoy breathtaking views of the Andes.
We descend through valleys with llamas and alpacas, stop for lunch, and continue to Qampa Camp (4,700 m / 15,419 ft). In the afternoon, relax and possibly spot viscachas. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5: Qampa – Pacchanta – Cusco
After breakfast, we hike to Qampa Pass (5,070 m / 16,633 ft), with views of glaciers and valleys. Then we descend through the famous 7 Lakes of Ausangate, including Qomercocha.
We arrive at Pacchanta for lunch and enjoy its hot springs. Finally, we return by private transport to Cusco, ending an unforgettable Ausangate Trek 5 days adventure.
