From Lima: Paracas, Huacachina, and Chincha Day Trip

Explore Paracas, Huacachina, and Chincha on a day trip from Lima. Discover the Ballestas Islands, visit a winery in Ica, enjoy a dune buggy ride, and participate in a cultural experience.
Begin your adventure early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Lima. Travel by tourist transport for approximately 3 hours to the coastal town of Paracas.

Upon arrival in Paracas, head to the El Chaco pier to board a modern speedboat and navigate the Pacific Ocean toward the Ballestas Islands, often called the “Peruvian Galápagos.”

During the boat tour, observe a wide variety of marine wildlife such as sea lions, Humboldt penguins, guanay cormorants, flamingos, and many other seabirds that inhabit the rocky islands. Along the way, see the mysterious Candelabra geoglyph, carved into the desert hillside, while your guide explains the different theories about its origin.

After the boat tour, enjoy free time to explore the Paracas waterfront. Then, travel to the city of Ica, where you can enjoy lunch (not included). Later, visit a traditional winery, where local experts will explain the production process of Pisco, Peru’s famous grape brandy. Enjoy a tasting of wines, pisco creams, macerated liquors, and mistelas produced in the region.

After the tasting, continue to the Huacachina Oasis, a spectacular natural lagoon surrounded by towering desert dunes. Experience exciting dune buggy rides across the desert and try sandboarding, sliding down the dunes on specially designed boards. After the adventure, enjoy free time to explore the oasis and take photos.

Stop in Chincha, where you will participate in a short Afro-Peruvian cultural experience, including a folklore dance workshop accompanied by the traditional cajón, interactive activities, and a tasting of typical local sweets. Finally, begin the return journey to Lima, arriving at your hotel in the evening.
