Beschreibung

Visit partner families on Uros and Taquile — not the random stops other boats make. Travel with local guides who speak Quechua and Aymara and know Taquile's textile tradition firsthand.
On Uros and Taquile, you'll visit partner families we've worked with for years — not the random island your captain happens to dock at. That single choice changes the whole day.

After hotel pickup in central Puno, board a fast boat across Lake Titicaca to the Uros floating islands. Your host family explains how the totora reed islands are built, maintained, and lived on — with real time to look around, ask questions, and (optionally) ride a traditional reed boat. No 20-minute rushed stop.

Continue by boat to Taquile, a UNESCO-recognized island famous for its textile tradition. Walk up to the main square with your guide — a Puno local who speaks Quechua and Aymara and knows the weaving customs from the inside. You'll understand the community's social organization, the meaning behind the patterns, and why the men knit here.

A traditional lunch is served by our partner family on the island — pre-arranged, authentic, no forced artisan sales afterward. Free time to explore the square and artisan market on your own terms before the fast boat back to Puno.

Portuguese and French guides available on request (supplement applies).
