Set off from Zakopane for an unforgettable full-day trip combining culture, adventure, and mountain scenery.
Your first stop is the Czorsztyn Castle, beautifully located above the shimmering Lake Czorsztyn. This picturesque medieval ruin offers incredible photo opportunities and a short walk through local history.
Next, visit a traditional shepherd’s hut, where you’ll sample freshly made oscypek, a smoked sheep cheese unique to the Polish Tatra Mountains. It's a taste of true mountain heritage — rustic, authentic, and delicious.
The highlight of the day is a traditional wooden rafting journey down the Dunajec River. Board a classic wooden raft and float for about 1 hour 30 minutes through the breathtaking Dunajec River. Your local raftsman will share legends, stories, and fun facts about the region as you glide between towering cliffs and past iconic peaks like Trzy Korony.
Upon arrival in Szczawnica, you’ll have the chance to taste natural mineral water straight from the source. Rich in calcium, magnesium, and iron, these waters have been valued for centuries for their health benefits.
Next, hop aboard a scenic chairlift up to Palenica (722 meters above sea level). From the top, admire the panoramic views over the Pieniny and Beskid mountains — a perfect spot for a coffee or drink.
To finish the day, you’ll have free time in Szczawnica’s old town to explore local shops, grab a bite, or simply relax before your return to Zakopane.
