THE EXPERIENCE

Your adventure begins at our riverside base in Valea Lupului, tucked inside the dramatic Buzau Valley in the Southern Carpathians. After a 20-minute van transfer and a thorough safety briefing, you'll hit the water for three full hours of rafting.

Expect Class II-III rapids — exciting enough to thrill, gentle enough to welcome complete beginners from age 7. Between the rapids, the river slows into calm stretches where you can swim, splash other rafts, jump from the boat, or simply take in the wild valley scenery. Steep forested slopes rise on both sides; the Carpathian wilderness feels a world away from the cities.

YOUR GUIDES

You'll be paddling with a certified international team holding credentials from the International Rafting Federation (IRF), World Rafting Federation (WRF), Rescue3, and British Canoeing. Our guides speak English, Spanish, German, and Romanian fluently — so briefings and on-water communication are always clear.

IMPORTANT: PLAN TO STAY OVERNIGHT NEARBY

The Buzau River is fed by water released from the Siriu Dam, and the dam's schedule changes daily depending on Romania's electricity demand.
We learn each day's release schedule only the evening before, around 8:00 PM — which means your exact start time may fall anywhere between early morning (from 7:00 AM) and early evening.

For this reason, we strongly recommend staying overnight in the Buzau Valley area rather than driving in from Bucharest or Brasov on the morning of your rafting day. Valea Lupului is approximately 2 hours from Brasov (~100 km) and 2h20min from Bucharest (~133 km).

For travelers looking to extend the adventure, our own glamping retreat — Green Camp Adventure Glamping — sits 40 minutes from the rafting base, with a private river beach, beach volleyball, hammock zones, on-site restaurant, and additional activities including kayaking on Lake Siriu, via ferrata, and a treetop adventure park.

OUR RAFTING BASE

Separate changing rooms and toilets for men and women. Hot showers available from mid-May to mid-September. A seasonal outdoor pool operates during the summer months.
