Join me for a walk through Anfield and discover the places, people and stories that shaped Liverpool Football Club long before the trophies and the worldwide fanbase. As a Liverpool supporter for more than 20 years, I first came to the city to watch a match and ended up falling in love with Liverpool so much that I made it my home. This is the tour I wish I’d taken on that very first visit.

We’ll begin outside The Sandon, the historic pub where Liverpool FC was founded in 1892, before making our way through the streets that have grown alongside the club for well over a century. Along the way you’ll hear how a disagreement changed football history, discover why the Liver Bird became a symbol of both the city and the club, and learn about the traditions that make Anfield unlike anywhere else.

We’ll stop at famous murals celebrating Liverpool legends, admire the Shankly Gates, visit memorials that tell stories of pride, resilience and togetherness, and explore the changing face of the neighbourhood around the stadium. You’ll also hear about Bill Shankly, Bob Paisley, legendary players, matchday traditions and the community spirit that continues to define Anfield today.

There will be plenty of time for photos, questions and conversation as we walk at a relaxed pace through the neighbourhood. We finish at Homebaked, a remarkable community bakery whose story perfectly reflects the resilience and warmth of the people who call Anfield home.

This is an outdoor walking tour exploring the neighbourhood around Anfield. While we get close to the stadium and many of its most famous landmarks, entry to Anfield Stadium, the Liverpool FC Museum and the official stadium tour is not included.
