7-Day Senegal & Gambia Tour - Safari, Desert, Beach & Lions

Embark on a 7-day adventure tour of Senegal and The Gambia. Ride a camel in the Lompoul Desert, enjoy a safari in Fathala, cross the border into The Gambia, and relax on the beach in Senegambia.
Day 1 – Dakar to Lompoul | Lodge & Camel Ride
Your adventure begins with pickup from Dakar (airport or hotel) and a scenic drive to Lompoul, famous for its spectacular golden sand dunes. Check in at the Lodge, a unique desert retreat offering a peaceful setting. Enjoy time to relax and take in the desert atmosphere before experiencing a memorable camel ride through the dunes. Dinner and breakfast are included.

Days 2–3 – Lompoul to Safari
After breakfast, depart Lompoul and travel approximately 5–6 hours across Senegal towards a Southwestern Direction. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through rural landscapes and local communities.

Upon arrival, experience a wildlife safari, exploring the reserve and searching for African wildlife in its natural surroundings. One of the major highlights is the unique lion encounter, providing an unforgettable opportunity to see these magnificent animals at close range under professional supervision.

Day 3 allows time to relax and enjoy the natural surroundings after your safari experience. Dinner is included.

Day 4 – Senegal to The Gambia | Border Crossing & Local Experience
After breakfast, leave Senegal and cross into The Gambia by road. Experience an authentic side of West African travel as you pass through the border and continue into the Gambian countryside.

Stay overnight in a basic local guest lodge, providing a more authentic experience away from the main tourist areas. This simple accommodation allows you to experience a different side of The Gambia and its local way of life.

Day 5 – Wussu | Countryside & Water Safari
After breakfast, continue the journey to Wussu, travelling through the Gambian countryside and experiencing rural landscapes along the way.

Later, enjoy a water safari by boat, exploring the peaceful waterways and surrounding natural environment. The gentle pace of the boat provides a relaxing way to discover the landscape and offers excellent opportunities for nature and wildlife photography.

Day 6 – Wussu to Senegambia | Beachfront Relaxation
After breakfast, travel to the coast and check in at the famous Senegambia Beach Hotel. After several days of adventure, enjoy a relaxing beachfront stay beside the Atlantic Ocean.

Dinner is not included, giving you the freedom to choose from the hotel's dining options or nearby restaurants.

Day 7 – Departure or Extend Your Stay
Enjoy breakfast before your transfer to the airport for your onward flight. Alternatively, extend your stay in The Gambia at your own cost and enjoy additional days of sunshine, beaches, culture and relaxation.
