Escape for two days to discover Tunisian heritage, Berber traditions and the landscapes of the Sahara, with a night under the stars and an exploration of local flavors.

**Day 1 – Matmata, Berber traditions and overnight stay in the Sahara**

Early morning departure from Tunis, Hammamet or Sousse to the south of Tunisia.

Discover El Jem and its impressive Roman amphitheater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dive into the history of the Roman Empire as you admire this exceptional monument.

Continue to Matmata, known for its cave dwellings and Berber architecture. You'll also discover the Hotel Sidi Driss, famous for its connection to the Star Wars movies.

After lunch at a local restaurant, head to Sabria, in the heart of the golden dunes. Settle into the camp and watch the sunset. Camel rides and other desert activities may be available at an additional cost.

In the evening, learn how to make sand bread, depending on the activities offered by the camp, and then enjoy a traditional dinner around the campfire under the stars. Spend the night at the camp.

**Day 2 – Chott El Jerid, Chebika and Kairouan**

After breakfast, cross Chott El Jerid, a vast salt lake with changing colors and spectacular panoramas. Stop to admire the landscape and take photos.

Continue to Chebika, a beautiful mountain oasis known for its palm trees, natural springs and rock formations. Explore its trails and discover the remains of the ancient village.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue on to Kairouan. Stroll through the historic medina, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and admire the exterior of the Great Mosque, famous for its architecture and cultural significance.

Take the opportunity to taste or buy, if you wish, the famous makroudh of Kairouan.

Then begin your return journey after two days full of discoveries, encompassing history, culture, gastronomy and Saharan landscapes.
