From Edinburgh: Winter Highlands Discovery Day Trip in French

Did you know that between November and February, it gets dark early in the North? Rather than driving in the dark, we have designed a tailor-made route to enjoy Scotland in winter
Loch Lubnaig:
To start the day off right, Loch Lubnaig offers you a moment of absolute serenity. This deep-water lake is beautifully framed by steep hills and forests, forming a perfect emerald mirror. This is the perfect spot for an inspiring first photo break in the morning light and to enjoy the majestic silence of the Highlands.

Rannoch Moor & Glencoe:
Prepare for a real visual shock as you cross the vast wilderness of Rannoch Moor, one of the most untamed landscapes in Europe. The road will then take you into the heart of the legendary Glencoe Valley. Surrounded by dizzying mountains with peaks often dusted with snow in winter, this volcanic valley steeped in history offers panoramas of dramatic and striking beauty.

Fort William:
We will stop for lunch in Fort William, the "British capital of things to do outdoors". Nestled on the banks of Loch Linnhe, the town is dominated by the imposing Ben Nevis, the highest peak in the UK. You will enjoy a well-deserved break to eat, stroll through the center, and warm up in the cozy atmosphere of this iconic Highland town.

West Coast, Appin & Stalker Castle:
In the afternoon, our journey continues to the picturesque west coast through the Appin area. We will make a must-see stop in front of the romantic Stalker Castle. Isolated on its small rocky island in the middle of the water, it is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland. Bathed in the soft, fading light of winter, the site exudes a mystical and timeless atmosphere.

Kilchurn Castle:
The adventure continues to the majestic ruins of Kilchurn Castle, the former stronghold of the powerful Campbell Clan. Located on a peninsula at the tip of Loch Awe and framed by imposing peaks, it is a place full of mystery that takes on its full dramatic dimension under the colors of the winter sky.

Tyndrum:
We will begin our return journey through the magnificent scenery of the national park. Our route will pass through Tyndrum, a small village nestled at the bottom of the valley and a historic crossroads of the Highlands, where we'll have the opportunity to admire the last glimmers of twilight on the surrounding mountains.

The Illuminated Kelpies:
To end the day in style, our last stop has a magical show in store for you. As night falls, the famous Kelpies – two colossal steel horse heads over 30 meters high – light up in vibrant colors. These monumental sculptures, representing the mythical spirits of Scottish waters, then take on a magical dimension, ending your journey with an unforgettable image.
