This trip is perfect escape for those who love nature, Hike, exploring caves, breathtaking canyons, crystalblue waters for swimming, and diving deep into history at the Petrela.
The adventure begins with a hotel pickup in Tirana. After approximately 40 minutes of driving, we reach the village of Pellumbas. From here, we set off on a scenic hike along trails overlooking the Erzen Canyon and its surroundings. The hike takes about 40 minutes, depending on the group’s pace.

We then continue with an exploration of Pellumbas Cave, where the fascinating stalactites and stalagmites leave a lasting impression. Afterward, we descend to the Erzen Canyon, a place of stunning natural beauty with several crystal-clear pools where you can enjoy swimming and relaxing in the fresh waters.

Our journey concludes at Petrela Castle, an emblematic fortress where history comes alive, offering spectacular panoramic views.
For those seeking extra adventure, it is also possible to experience the zipline at Petrela Castle — one of the longest in the Balkan region.
We return to Tirana around 5:00 PM, after a day rich in adventure, activities, and cultural discoveries.

1- Erzen Canyon
Located near Tirana, the Erzen Canyon is a natural wonder carved by the Erzen River. Its steep cliffs, crystal-clear pools, and unique rock formations make it a popular destination for hiking, swimming, and outdoor adventures.

2- Pellumbas Cave
Also known as the “Black Cave,” Pellumbas Cave is one of Albania’s most fascinating karst caves. Dating back thousands of years, it features impressive stalactites and stalagmites and has yielded archaeological remains from the Paleolithic era.

3- Petrela Castle
Overlooking the Erzen Valley, Petrela Castle is a medieval fortress dating back to the Byzantine period. It played an important role in defending the region and later became associated with the resistance of Skanderbeg. Today, it offers panoramic views and a glimpse into Albania’s history.

4- Presqopi (Optional if we have enough time)
Presqopi, located on the hills near Petrela, is an archaeological site believed to have been an ancient Illyrian settlement. The ruins include fortification walls and remnants of dwellings, reflecting the strategic importance of the area in antiquity.
