Departing from the Triabunna Marina, which is located approximately 1-hour and 15-minutes from Hobart, this tour includes a scenic cruise of Maria Island's coastline, time to explore the island and a guided walk around Maria Island's UNESCO-listed convict settlement.
The east coast of Maria Island features mountain-fed waterfalls, secluded bays, sea caves, ancient geology, and beaches of pure white sand. As you cruise around Maria Island, there will be stops at many of its famous landmarks including the Fossil Cliffs and the Painted Cliffs.
Listen to live commentary as you cruise toward Riedle Bay and Shoal Bay at Maria Island's isthmus. Drop the anchor and stop for lunch beside one of the beaches. These secluded beaches are only visited by a handful of people each year. Enjoy local drinks, snacks, and a salad bowl of your choice. Dock at Darlington in the afternoon. Stretch your legs on a guided tour through the collection of historic convict buildings. Learn about the town’s history and meet some wombats. Meet your guide at the cafe in Triabunna (21 Vicary Street) for a check-in at 8:30 AM - 8:45 AM. The cafe opens at 8:00 AM and you are welcome to come along early and have a coffee and something to eat for breakfast. There is secure parking for cars and campers behind the cafe. If you are not familiar with the area, please aim to arrive at 8:00 AM. Parking at the cafe is all day.
When should I book?
To guarantee availability book as soon as possible. Early booking is worth consideration especially if you planning the trip during high season like public holidays or weekends.
Cancellations
This excursion you can cancel with no cost up to 24 hours before the start of the trip. If you cancel it after 24 hours or not show up on the excursion you will still be charged the full price of the activity. Being late on pick-up or departure will be considered as not showing up.
