An extraordinary Segway city tour in Innsbruck with brunch at the SKY Restaurant at the Bergisel Schanze
We will start on the forecourt of the Landestheater in Innsbruck and continue along the Inn River towards the Hungerburg funicular. We will then return through the Saggen district, passing Innsbruck’s stately mansions, to the Market Square. From there, we’ll head west again, following the Inn River to the turnoff for the Wilten Basilica. From there, we’ll make our way up to the lower station of the Bergisel lift. A few more steps, and we’ll be at the SKY restaurant on the Bergisel. There, we’ll enjoy a hearty brunch with coffee, tea, fresh bread, and pastries. During the tour, we will be able to take in the impressive scenery, stretching from Innsbruck across the Upper and Lower Inn Valleys, as well as into the Stubai Valley and the Wipp Valley. The view down over the ski jump in-run is truly awe-inspiring. After brunch, we will take the lift (or, for more athletic participants, the stairs) back down to the valley station. Once there, we will head back towards the city of Innsbruck on our Segways. We will cross Amraser Strasse and ride along Wiltener Platzl to the Triumphal Arch. The south side of the Triumphal Arch commemorates the marriage of Archduke Leopold to Princess Maria Ludovica on August 5, 1765, while the north side commemorates the death of Emperor Franz Stephan I, who passed away shortly after the wedding. We then continue through the center of Innsbruck until we once again reach the forecourt of the Landestheater.
