On this one-day tour, we set off from Chiang Mai and embark on a scenic 3-hour drive through Northern Thailand countryside toward Chiang Rai. Along the way, we make a refreshing stop at a natural hot spring, where we take a relaxing break and enjoy some coffee, snacks, and boiled eggs.
Next, we will arrive at the breathtaking White Temple, or Wat Rong Khun. Standing before its dazzling white facade adorned with intricate glass mosaics sparkling in the sunlight, we will be truly amazed by the temple’s unique architecture and artistic detail. Walking around, feel immersed in the serene yet striking atmosphere that makes this temple so special.
Afterwards, enjoy a delicious traditional Thai lunch along with seasonal fruits at a restaurant nearby, a perfect way to recharge before continuing the journey.
Our next destination is Wat Rong Suea Ten, the Blue Temple. Its vibrant blues and golds beautifully symbolize Dharma and Buddha’s teachings. The temple’s vivid colors and intricate designs create a mesmerizing experience.
Then, explore Wat Huay Pla Kang, known as the Red Temple. The grandeur of the towering 69-meter-high Guan Yin statue and the stunning red-and-gold nine-tiered pagoda leave a lasting impression. The blend of Chinese and Lanna architectural styles makes this temple a fascinating sight.
As an optional tour, let’s head to the Long Neck Hilltribe village, where we have the chance to meet not only the famous Long Neck Karen people but also other local hill tribes.
