8 Days Classic Bhutan Tour
Day 1: Arrival in Paro
Upon arrival, meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. Visit Rinpung Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most impressive fortresses, known for its beautiful architecture and Buddhist murals. Continue to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the oldest temples in Bhutan. Later, enjoy a stroll through Paro town and explore the local market. Overnight in Paro.
Day 2: Paro – Thimphu
After breakfast, drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. Visit the Folk Heritage Museum, the School of Arts and Crafts, and the magnificent Buddha Dordenma statue overlooking the valley. In the evening, explore Tashichho Dzong and enjoy free time in Thimphu city. Overnight in Thimphu.
Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha
Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,100m), offering panoramic Himalayan views on clear days. Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the famous fertility temple, after a short walk through local villages and rice fields. Continue to Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most beautiful landmarks. Overnight in Punakha.
Day 4: Punakha – Gangtey
Begin with a village walk and cross Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge. Visit local farmhouses and experience rural Bhutanese life. Later, drive to Gangtey Valley, home to the endangered black-necked cranes. Visit Gangtey Monastery and enjoy views of the stunning Phobjikha Valley. Overnight in Gangtey.
Day 5: Gangtey – Punakha
Enjoy a morning hike through Gangtey Valley, passing traditional villages, forests, and farmland. Visit the Nature Information Centre to learn about the region’s wildlife and conservation efforts. Drive back to Punakha for the night.
Day 6: Punakha – Paro
Return to Paro via Thimphu. Stop at the vibrant Weekend Market, where locals sell fresh produce, handicrafts, and traditional goods. Continue to Paro and enjoy the evening at leisure. Overnight in Paro.
Day 7: Tiger’s Nest Hike
Embark on a memorable hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), Bhutan’s most iconic site. Perched dramatically on a cliffside above Paro Valley, the monastery offers breathtaking scenery and spiritual significance. Return to Paro for your final overnight stay.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward flight.
