The city of La Paz, Bolivia's Andean jewel, invites you to explore its streets, immerse yourself in its vibrant culture and gaze at the towering peaks of the Andes that surround it, creating a truly unique urban environment.
Our itinerary will start early in the morning, picking you up from your hotel around 4:00 am. From there, we will head towards the border between Peru and Bolivia, located in Desaguadero, to enter Bolivia and continue on to La Paz. After approximately 4 hours of travel, we will arrive at our destination and take a guided tour of the colonial quarter, Avenue 16 de Julio and Avenue Mariscal Gamarra. Afterwards, we will explore the historic centre, where the imposing Neoclassical Cathedral of Nuestra Señora de la Paz and the emblematic Plaza Murillo stand out. We will have time to enjoy lunch on our own before visiting the Santo Domingo Convent and the famous Witches' Market. At the conclusion of our visit in La Paz, we will transfer by bus to the archaeological site of Tiwanaku, where one of Bolivia's most important pre-Columbian cultures flourished. During our tour, we will explore its secrets, including the temple of Kalasasaya, the pyramid of Akapana and the famous Sun Gate. We will also have the opportunity to marvel at the queros, ceremonial vessels, and the walls adorned with huaco-portraits, representations of human faces. At the end of this enriching experience, you will have gained a deep insight into Bolivia's rich culture and heritage. After a day full of emotions, we will start our return journey to Peru and arrive in Puno between 14:00 and 15:00.
