Salar de Uyuni: Day Tour + Magical Stars Night

Discover the Uyuni Salt Flats on a guided tour. Visit the train cemetery, and enjoy a sunset with wine and snacks.
Begin your adventure with a pickup from the Uyuni bus station or airport. Head to the train cemetery, located 2 km from Uyuni, to see the rusting remains of old locomotives. Next, visit Colchani, a town where salt is processed and exported, and browse the local salt crafts.

Continue to the Uyuni Salt Flats, the largest in the world. Stop to see salt blocks, salt piles, and the salt flats’ eyes. Visit the Stairway to Heaven, the Hand of Salt, and the pyramids of salt. Admire the giant salt monument of the Dakar Rally.

Stop at the first salt hotel, now a museum called Playa Blanca, where you’ll see flags from around the world. Enjoy lunch at tables and chairs made entirely of salt. Choose from llama chops with royal quinoa or fried chicken, French fries, and salad, with fruits and drinks included. Vegetarian and vegan options are also available.

After lunch, head to the center of the salt flats for a photo session. Your guide, a professional photographer, will help you take perspective photos with dinosaurs and other props.

In the afternoon, return to the Playa Blanca salt hotel to put on rain boots before heading to the reflections area. In the lower part of the salt lake, where there is water, have another photo session with reflections and mirror effects.

As the sun sets, enjoy a magical moment with a red table set up in the middle of the water, complete with a bottle of red wine, juices, chips, ham, cheese, and olives. After the sunset, start the night photo session and astrophotography with professional Canon and Nikon cameras, tripods, and non-polluting dynamic lights.

Return to Uyuni and be dropped off at your hotel or bus company at 8:30 PM.
